Baby Sign

We have been teaching Tyler sign language. At first we showed him the ABCs, and we tested him and he can do it on his own. Also, we taught him five emotions. After that trial, we decided we would try and teach him the real thing. We wanted to make sure he could do it first. I notice the other kids watching....so I think we could make it a family thing too. We are going to start with a program called "babysigns" and later we can choose American Sign Language and build from it, since it is really basic. Here's a link that shows the details on the program. https://www.babysigns.com
Tyler will be 7 years old, and he still does not have a way to communicate to us. In time, he might become more verbal with functional language but for now we will use signs to couple our speech to help him. It's great because the body language in and of itself grasps his attention, and helps him to engage in our conversation....not to mention great eye contact. He has such pretty blue eyes too. This picture if fuzzy (my camera is slowly "going") but he is making the sign for "T" as in Tyler. We think this could be a huge blessing for him.
